Do Good, Be Happy

on 11/04/2016

When we launched The Nicest Job in Britain in September 2014, it was with the simple purpose to help people do more good.

Whether that was supporting an existing charity & helping them to tell their story, or a candidate seeking a great set of experience working in the charity sector, or helping would-be volunteers make that all-important first step, or even providing inspiration to those who want to start their own charity.

Fortunately for us, we met and engaged with thousands of people along the journey who shared our purpose and wanted to do good for the world around them. Perhaps that’s what connected so many people worldwide, showcasing passion for helping people, helping to make the world a better place.

Since we completed the first round of The Nicest Job in Britain in December, we have been busy analyzing the results, understanding the impact and wondering what to do next.

The good news is, we are not short of options..!

We opened up nominations and applications for charities to become a part of The Nicest Job in Britain 2016/17 and so far, we have been overwhelmed. Hundreds of charities have either signed up or been nominated by their supporters - which is exactly what we're all about, banging the drum to shout about great people and great causes.

We will close the window for charities to sign up at the end of April, so that we can select (at random) the 40 that will be part of the upcoming programme. So if you know of, support or work at a charity that could benefit from our platform, it's not too late to sign up.

And then there is the small matter of the role itself - The Nicest Job in Britain.

If you've been waiting to apply, thank you. If you're just finding out about this life-changing role, get ready! Once we have selected the charities to take part in this year's programme, we will be opening up applications, so that you can tell us (via a 60 second video) why you are the best person for the job.

If you need reminding, take a look at last year's shortlisted candidates' videos for inspiration - they were all brilliant in their own right.

But that's not all.

Thanks to the incredible journey Luke went on in 2015, we have taken the knowledge, experience and connections and put them to good use. We are working hard behind the scenes to launch a sister platform to The Nicest Job in Britain. So please stay tuned & watch this space for what's coming next.
