Look how much they've raised!

Well - what a week it has been, and it's only Thursday! Phew.

Last Thursday saw us announce the 8 Nicest Job in Britain 2016/17 finalists.

From hundreds of registrants to some incredible video submissions - we narrowed it down to the top 8 people.

Alice, Olly, Heather, Jenny, Sali, Nat, Andy and Maya - all worthy of the Nicest Job in Britain!

When we announced our finalists last Thursday, we also set them a challenge; help raise as much money and awareness for a charity as you can. (to be fair to all the charities, we pulled 8 of this years NJIB charities out of a hat) and allocated one each to the finalists.

Alice was paired with RSPCA and decided to crawl 5K

Olly was paired with The Brain Charity and set up various incredible incentives including helping at their annual ball and auctioning off a prize on Givergy

Nat was paired with Little Princess Trust where she vowed to shave her head

Maya was paired with Changing Faces who is doing a zip wire

Heather was paired with Theodora Children's Charity and set up her #CustardPieChallenge and auctioning off a prize on Givergy

Sali was paired with Winston's Wish and embarked on a local mission evoking memoirs and collecting #NewFivers

Andy was paired with Mary Stevens Hospice and is running a #HeroesForHospice day

Jenny was paired with Toybox who is walking 100,000 steps in aid of street children and auctioning off a prize on Givergy

I don't think we were fully prepared for what was to come.

Within hours to setting the challenge, the finalists set up pages on GivePenny (our fundraising partner for this challenge) and the money started pouring in. Social media went even more ablaze and the support came in its thousands.

Our finalists have received retweets, support and raise from the likes of; Ed Sheeran, Lorraine Kelly, Tom Kitchin, Hugh Dennis, Sinitta, local and national radio stations and even the national press.

Money has been flooding in too. With the total at over £5000 raised for our wonderful causes!

With the final fast approaching on the 3rd October - all is still to play for the Nicest Job in Britain.
